Behind The Door Shelves

I showed my husband a shelf system from Pintrest, the web page is here. So we took a trip to the local home improvement store and bought some wood to make it.  It was a project I thought would only take one weekend but here we are on the second weekend and I think I need next weekend to put a second coat of paint on it and it will be ready to hang.

I share this space with my husband and am limited to the "left overs".  But it seems he has been releasing more and more space for me, or maybe I am just taking over.  Any how the behind the door shelves will go here.  The picture stays there so my husband will have to work around his picture.
Here they are, so far.  More work to do on them. and I will update this when they are hung up and add some pictures with the stamps on them.  I can't wait.

Here is the update on my "behind the door shelves".   Just adding the final results

Completed project!!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Just a little something I threw together for my hubby for Valentine's day.  We went to the beach over Thanksgiving break to get a few family photos (curtesy of my daughter).  I printed them off and put this shadow box together with shells we collected over the years. because really, what else am I gonna do with them?

Fun Tag

A tag to share.

I used the Tim Holtz dies to cut out the wings and dress form.  the "fly" was from a sizzix die.  I used my computer to print the rest of the words.  I cut the tag from white card stock and inked it with distress ink (vintage photo). I sprayed my stamp (hand writting) with water and pressed it on the stamp to get the ghosting effect.  The birds are stamped in "black soot" distress ink.  I used "frayed burlap" on the dress form and then stamped with my "itty bitty" stamp the writting.  I inked the base of the dress form with "tea dye" distress ink. The face is made out of hot glue with gold "rub n buff" and then I used my copic markers to color the lips red and the eyes blue.  The crown was given to my by my sister and it was gold.  I thought I would mute the gold with alcohol ink but when I bloted the ink off the gold came with it so I just left it silver.

Valentine's Day Cards

I tried a couple techniques with my Cuttlebug and then I moved on to something I knew I could do.  I know if I worked at it a little bit I could probably master this technique but I have not been motivated enough to do it, so here are the ones I did.

On this one I ran white card stock through my Cuttlebug and then ran my teal ink pad over the embossed image.  The paper was a bit tattered in some areas due to the deep impression the embossing folder left so those areas sucked up the ink.  When I tried to put some extra paper in the folder (as I have seen done in videos) it wouldn't go through my cuttlebug.

On this one I inked up the embossing folder but apparently not well enough as you can see there is more ink in more areas than others.

This is the front of my Valentine card the glittery hearts and the "I Love You" are stamped and embossed adn the "Happy Valentine's Day" is a rub-on and the birds and the deep red heart are stickers.

Here is the inside I used more stickers (the bird, envelopes, and heart) and rub-on's (adore and xoxo)
I plan on giving this to my husband.  Oddly enough he love this kinda thing.  Please leave questions or comments.

Here is another card.

Dogwood cards

Here are a couple of cards I was working on.  The thank you card was for my mother-in-law.  She made me dinner and a cake for my birthday.  The other is just one I made because I felt like playing with my stamps and my distress markers.
