Steam punk tag

I enjoyed making this tag today. The face was made using a "sculpey mold" and hot glue. After it cooled I popped it out and used "Rub'n Buff" (gold) on it. I attached it to the card with Glossy Accents. I made the flowers using Tim Holtz "tattered flower garland". After attaching them together with glue I used a tiny bumble bee brad in the center to attach to the tag. I made the tag in the usual way by inking and stamping. The gears are Spellbinders "sprightly sprockets" after cutting them out I inked them with the adirondack mixactive in silver.

I hope I explained it well enough for you.  If you have any questions drop me a comment.

Work In Progress-Travel Journal

Let me first of all say sorry for the poor picture quality. I took these with my iPad because I am still having difficulty uploading pictures from my PC to my blog. So I did half the blog on my iPad and the rest on the computer. So here is the finished journal (I think).  I keep wanting to add more to it but I guess I should leave that to the person this will eventually belong to.  I may put some ribbon on the book rings so they don't look so stark.  But all in all I really like it.

Either a photo or journaling can go here.  I showed both options on this page  above and the one below.  The white card can be removed easily to replace it with a picture or turn it over and journal on the back.

I made more tags that can be used for pictures and/or journaling and then tucked into the vellum pocket.

I stamped and cut out the airplane and positioned it so those cards can be removed and replaced with a picture and the white lined paper can be journal-ed on and put into the pocket page with the ledger lines on it. (I hope that makes sense).

This is the opposite side of the white pocket page with the cards and tags taken out of the pocket.

The "post card" is the back of the globe card/tag from the previous picture.  The little brown stripped paper is an envelope I made to look like air mail (I hope).

I thought this was really cute with the "guest check"  it can be removed and replaced with a photo or a photo can be tucked behind it.  I attached the little journal tag with a coat hanger paper clip.  I thought it was appropriate with the suit case.
This is what this section looks like put together. and below is what it looks like with all the tags taken out.  The "post card" is the back of the white paper showing with the suitcases stacked on top of each other.

THE END.

post signatureI hoped you liked looking at this.  I will be posting this in my Etsy shop this week.  Please leave comments or suggestions, I'd love to hear from you.

Travel Journal Scrapbook

This is a work in progress but I wanted to post this little goodie for now. This is not the best photo quality. For some reason my PC isn't working with my blog. I am posting with my iPad and am not quit as proficient as I was on the computer, not that I was proficient at that either, but at least I could navigate better on the other.
I will post more when I can. Hopefully I will have the glitches fixed and be back up and running next week.

Color Swatch

I was asked to post a mini tutorial on my color swatch I made for my copic markers, so here it is.  I started with a few basic supplies. Bristol smooth paper, my big bite and a tag punch.

I punched out a stack of tags and used my big bite to punch a hole through several tags at a time. I used the chiseled end of my copic and as I moved down the tag I added a line of color.  For instance the first line drawn is just one stroke of the pen the second line is two strokes and so on.  I illistrated here with both a dark and light color pens. I labeled them with the number and put them on a book ring.  I am showing the front and the back.  As you can see the darker colors bled through to the back of the tag.  This ring is so easy to carry with me to the store when I am in the market for a new color.
